The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to join our high-performing and innovative R&D Team. Reporting to the Manager, of Core Product Innovation, your primary responsibility will be to utilize technology platforms to optimize existing or develop new products and systems that satisfy our customers’ unmet needs.
What you’ll do
* Work with our team of scientists and engineers to develop innovative concepts into practical solutions
* Conduct research to identify technology and industry trends that could be utilised to accelerate the delivery of unique solutions to the market
* Rapidly develop prototypes of product solutions for customer assessment
* Develop and execute testing plans to ensure products are fit for purpose including install-ability, durability and compliance to relevant building codes and regulations
* Conduct data analysis of test results leading to the presentation of sound technical recommendations to the R&D senior leadership team.
* Lead production trials and implementation of solutions in our world-class manufacturing facilities
* Management of multiple concurrent projects through our technical stage gate process
What you’ll bring
* A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, Civil Engineering or Chemical Process engineering (or similar qualification)
* 5+ years’ experience in a similar industry
* Experience in successfully delivering projects from concept to commercialisation
* Planning/organisation skills – the ability to understand priorities, determine the critical path, and develop contingency plans
* Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Ability to motivate and influence others to drive deliverables
