Reporting to the IT Development manager, the Software Engineer will have technical and software development skills, strong troubleshooting and analysis skills, and an ability to understand business priorities and requirements.This role will interact with internal and external stakeholders ranging from software engineers, project managers, IT shared services, service providers, and vendors.Responsibilities & DutiesProvide technical support services for ETRM (Energy Trade and Risk Management) IT systemResolution of 2nd and 3rd level application supportEnd to end ownership of technical problems and solutions including software designDesign, develop and implement advanced technical solutions for both on-premise and cloud-based platforms.Understand, develop, and adhere to ETRM processes, policies & proceduresApply continuous improvement methodology to all work processes, procedures & documentationDriving customer focus and ensuring we are delivering valuable outcomes for the businessAbout youProven experience in a similar role with experience in dev-ops and/or agile developmentAWS cloud platforms, ideally in serverless technology like LambdaKnowledge and skill in best practice software development methodologies and design patternsStrong skills in identifying and designing solutions using software development patterns and best practicesExcellent problem-solving skillsEnthusiastic attitude to embracing changeCommitment to participating in the after-hours support rosterExcellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to articulate technical information to non-technical peopleSelf-starter, demonstrated commitment to deadlinesTertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering or related disciplineKnowledge and experience with Agile development processesOrigin - Where good change happensAt Origin, we're powered by people who believe in creating change.We are committed to fostering a diverse, gender equitable workforce, where everyone is welcome, and all applications are evaluated on merit and potential.
