Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will ensure the health of workers through, the delivery of professional health and medical services, health promotion, proactive injury management, monitoring of occupational health functions and the delivery of expert advice and assistance on health and medical matters.
The Occupational Health Nurse is an onsite on-call role to respond promptly to medical emergencies as required.
The Opportunity Undertaking immediate clinical assessments, first aid and emergency medical treatment of injuries and illness.
Managing of poison permit and liaising with the Poisons Permit Doctor, maintaining effective levels of medical stock including all scheduled drugs up to S8.
Following the requirements of the WA Department of Health requirements, poisons permit, medical centre guidelines and treatment guidelines.
Working closely with the Injury management team and acting as an onsite support to injured workers and liaison to Perth base Injury management coordinator.
Providing onsite support to management with Return to work programs.
Conducting biological testing of workers to ensure occupational hygiene compliance.
Assist with reviewing of pre-employment medicals in accordance with company requirements when required.
Undertaking on site fitness for work assessments including Drug and Alcohol screening and hydration testing.
Maintaining accurate data entry into medical records system to ensure accurate record keeping and timely injury and illness reporting is established on site.
Contributing to effective internal and external medical and injury reporting.
Developing and delivering health promotions and medical communications to site.
Registering, inspecting, maintaining, medical equipment, medical first response equipment and consumables across the Laverton operations as per schedule.
Conducting inspections and audits as part of maintaining a high level of compliance.
Maintaining the site ambulance, emergency medical equipment, facilities and appliances in state of readiness and operability in accordance with manufacturers specifications, WADOH and company requirements.
Development and Maintenance of the Medical Centre Guideline by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and monitoring that it reflects current work practices, procedures and processes.
Ensuring medical facilities and assets are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.

We would love to hear from you if you have ?: Bachelor of Paramedical Science, Bachelor of Science (Nursing) OR accepted equivalent (such as Diploma of Paramedical Science from a State Ambulance Service with appropriate 'on road' prehospital and remote experience), AHPRA Registered (unconditional).
Minimum 3 years emergency or remote nursing Current 'C' Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
Demonstrated computer literacy (MS Office, Pronto, Health and safety systems etc).
