Based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, this esteemed company has been a cornerstone of the building materials industry for over a century.Your new roleAs a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play an integral role within the company, to ensure that maintenance activities are being performed efficiently, whilst the standard working protocols and processes are being adhered to. This will include the below duties, but not limited to:Provide technical backup and support for maintenance staffAssist in carrying out internal audits as requiredAssist in the development and training of maintenance personnel, to maximise their output and productivityPlan for efficient major maintenance work with minimum downtime in operation, to improve product changeover timesArrange employee scheduling so that maintenance systems can continue to operateMaintain inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance activitiesLiaise with the Plant Manager and Production Clerk to ensure maintenance budgets are adhered toEstablish and maintain an effective preventative maintenance system, ensuring there is minimal downtime and interruptions to productionLiaise with Engineering Manager and Electrical Supervisor to ensure that machinery, manuals and programmes are up-to-dateWhat you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, you must have demonstrated experience in a Maintenance Supervisor role, demonstrate strong management skills and develop a team in a similar manufacturing environment (FMCG, Industrial, etc.). Having a background of being a Maintenance Fitter will be highly regarded.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldElectricians Licence (A Grade)Excellent planning, organisational and leadership skillsDiscernment and perceptivenessAttention to detail and strong problem-solving skillsEffective communication & interpersonal skillsTechnical knowledge of building material manufacturing is preferred but not essentialA strong ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specificationsWhat you'll get in returnThis role not only offers a stable and rewarding career but also provides a platform for continuous learning and professional development.
