Senior Procurement and Contract Officer – VPS5 – Fixed Term, 18 Months
What you'll do
As the Senior Procurement & Contract Officer, you will provide procurement services across the Commission, provide procurement advice when required, manage a number of procurement panels and work with the leadership team on managing and reporting on several core contracts.
You will be part of a program to uplift vendor management, with a focus on how panels are being managed. Other accountabilities that you will have include:
1. Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including leading and supporting commercial negotiations using a number of techniques to achieve optimal contractual outcomes.
2. Initiate, manage and maintain close liaison and effective relationships with senior stakeholders, within and outside of the public sector, for example corporate procurement teams and related areas across government.

8. Develop reports and briefing papers on procurement or contract management matters.
As with all VPSC roles, the Senior Procurement & Contract Officer will partner closely with all relevant areas across the Commission, to bring the best of the Commission's skills and delivery capacity to the work underway.

To excel in this role, you will have significant experience in managing all aspects of the procurement lifecycle, managing contracts and vendor relationships.
You have a proven track record of planning and executing high-value or complex commercial negotiations, employing diverse techniques to achieve the best possible commercial and contractual results. You're able to apply your extensive experience and knowledge of procurement processes and practices to resolve complex issues.
You are proficient in achieving successful commercial outcomes through the end-to-end management of procurement activities, including the sourcing and oversight of complex goods and/or services contracts within the public and private sector.
Your strong conceptual abilities enable you to deliver innovative solutions to resolve complex problems. You are capable of effectively managing a wide range of stakeholder groups, leveraging your understanding of their organisational context to ensure that desired outcomes are met.
Furthermore, your proficiency in establishing systems and procedures to guide work and monitor progress is crucial. You are adept at recognising the processes, tasks and resources necessary to attain specific goals, with a keen focus on reaching milestones and delivering results.
