Job Expectations We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Manager, Regulatory Economics, to join nbn’ s Legal and Regulatory team. This role will report to the General Manager Regulatory Economics Legal & Regulatory. This key role will contribute to shaping nbn ’s regulatory environment, driving the company’s strategic objectives, maximizing value as nbn continues its mission. A bit about your role In this role, you will lead the development of long-term regulatory economic strategies that align with nbn ’s overarching goals. As a trusted second-in-command (2IC), you will take on leadership responsibilities and act as a delegate when necessary, owning critical portfolios and making impactful decisions. You will work closely with business colleagues to foster a deep understanding of nbn ’s regulatory environment and offer proactive, practical advice on navigating regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will lead engagement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on key regulatory economic matters, responding to requests for information and providing comprehensive reporting. Your influence will extend to shaping nbn ’s long-term regulatory framework, identifying opportunities to reform and improve regulatory policies, and advocating for favourable regulatory change to ensure nbn ’s success. A bit about you If this sounds like the role for you, then it is likely you will have a strong regulatory background, particularly in economics, with experience in infrastructure industries such as Telecommunications, Energy, or Water. Moreover, you are a subject matter expert with deep technical expertise and experience across economic and policy aspects of regulation. You are a strategic thinker with proven project management capabilities. You can drive regulatory strategies that align with the company’s broader goals, especially in areas that have financially material impacts. You are also adept at reviewing and creating financial analysis in a regulatory context, including through the development and use of spreadsheet regulatory models. As a highly effective communicator, you can engage with stakeholders at all levels, delivering clear and impactful messages.
