We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Veterinary Nurses to join our dedicated and growing team!
As an ECC Veterinary Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch emergency and critical care services to our patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of medical attention and support.
Our team works in a state-of-the-art clinical environment, equipped with the latest technology to deliver exceptional care for both patients and clients. As members of the Animal Referral and Emergency Network (AREN) and Greencross Vets, we are linked with a comprehensive network of veterinarians across Australia, spanning all veterinary disciplines. This collaboration enables our veterinarians to access a wealth of expertise, ensuring optimal outcomes for every patient.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill and injured patients under the supervision of our skilled veterinarians
2. Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment, making necessary adjustments as required
3. Assist with emergency procedures, surgeries, and diagnostics
4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
5. Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with the veterinary team and pet owners
6. Participate in continuous learning and development to enhance skills and knowledge in ECC nursing
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and expertise:
1. Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in emergency and critical care
3. Strong technical nursing skills, including proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and anesthesia monitoring
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
6. A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their owners
7. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating roster
