Project Manager
About the role:
The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will lead and oversee complex, mission-critical IT infrastructure projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience across all areas of IT infrastructure and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of law enforcement technology environments.
The Project Manager’s role is crucial in driving the organization’s technological advancements and ensuring that IT infrastructure projects contribute to the overall strategic goals. By effectively managing these projects, the Project Manager helps enhance the organisation’s operational efficiency, security posture, and ability to innovate, ultimately supporting long-term success and growth.
This role involves overseeing all phases of project management, from initial planning and resource allocation to execution, monitoring, and closure. The Project Manager must ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality.
Key responsibilities will include:
Project Management Experience: Minimum of 7 years continuous experience working as a Project Manager, with a portfolio of at least 3 large projects successfully delivered for large and complex organisations using contemporary project management methodologies.
Technical Oversight: Experience managing IT infrastructure projects related to Hybrid Cloud Compute, Storage, Network, Security, Identity, OS refresh, Databases and Unified Communications.
Vendor Management: Proven experience managing external vendors, including establishing scope of work, architecture, design, and overseeing delivery.
Team Leadership: Extensive experience managing and motivating a successful internal team of diverse resources (Architects, Engineers, Test resources, Business Analysts), ensuring effective collaboration and performance in a high-stakes environment.
Adaptability: Ability to navigate fast-paced, large-volume requirements, and pivot between different project needs. Demonstrated flexibility in managing diverse project requirements and challenges.
Reporting and Forecasting: Extensive experience managing project financial health, schedules, and detailed status reporting, including SteerCo reporting, using Enterprise Project Management tools.
Change Management: Strong ITIL change management and service transition experience, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new systems and processes. Experience in organizational change management, facilitating the adoption of new systems and processes across the organisation.
Compliance and Security: In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to law enforcement.
Education & Certificates:
* Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Certified in project management best practice methodologies, (preferably Practitioner PRINCE2, PMP).

Strong Leadership Skills – build and motivate a team and drive them achieve maximum performance towards the common goal.
Strong Vendor Management Skills – ability to manage vendors throughout an engagement to ensure successful delivery of the contracted milestones.
Strong Time Management and Organisational Skills – ability to prioritise and complete tasks with competing deadlines and work under pressure while managing multiple deliverables.
Influence and Negotiate – lead and facilitate productive discussions with stakeholders and team members. Recognize and explain the need for compromise. Manage challenging relationships and pre-empt and minimize conflict to ensure project success.
Display Resilience and Courage – Stay calm and active constructively in highly pressured and unpredictable environments. Give frank, honest advice in the face of strong, contrary views. Develop effective strategies and show decisiveness in dealing with emotionally charged situations, difficult and controversial issues.
Think and Solve Problems – Undertake objective, critical analysis to draw accurate conclusions that recognise and manage contextual issues. Work through issues, weigh up alternatives and identify the most effective solutions.
What's on offer?
This contract is available for an initial 6 months with extensions.
Located in Parramatta, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
