Position: Cook Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $75,000 plus superannuation per annumLocation: Bertram WA 6167Our client is seeking a full-time Cook to join their bar and grill located in Bertram, Western Australia.
Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring timely service and high standards of quality and presentation.
Assessing the quality of ingredients to ensure they meet required standards.Regulate and monitor temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to achieve optimal cooking conditions.Add appropriate seasonings during cooking to enhance flavour.Portion food, plate dishes, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes to ensure appealing presentation.Prepare meals that meet special dietary requirements as needed.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including cleaning cooking stations, utensils, and equipment, ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation guidelines.Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.Monitor food stock levels, maintain inventory, and notify the Kitchen Manager when supplies need to be reordered to ensure smooth kitchen operations.Assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements, offering suggestions for improving menu items and food quality based on customer feedback and personal expertise.Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and efficient service during busy periods and may involve training other kitchen staff and apprentices.Requirements:Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery Diploma of Hospitality Management would also be highly regardedAt least two (2) years of proven kitchen experience as a Cook or similar roleDemonstrate sound knowledge of food safety, handling and hygiene principlesReliable, efficient, and able to work in a teamFlexible availability.
