About the Tasmanian State Service
The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
The Glenorchy Community Care Team covers a large catchment, including the midlands and Derwent Valley, Brighton council area, and city of Glenorchy.
We are a vibrant multidisciplinary team including lived experience workers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychiatrists.
The Role:
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, the Nurse will:
Strengthen health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families, and other health professionals.
Provide a specialist mental health service within the community setting for a designated client group utilizing evidence-based practices and recovery principles.
You will need:
Current knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in line with legal and ethical requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in mental health nursing, including assertive case management, triage, holistic assessment, clinical risk management, and crisis intervention.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent full-time or part-time day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata) plus 11.5% superannuation contribution.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time.
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Current Driver’s Licence.
Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable).
Desirable criteria:
Possess a specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
