About the Role
The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide high-quality services, including balance sheet and account reconciliations, month-end processes, and relevant accounting treatment of transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of DTP's financial statements, ensuring compliance with financial standards and addressing audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of timely financial reports and maintenance of asset records
* Delivering best-practice financial management policies to minimize risks and support operational efficiency
* Maintaining the asset register and relevant valuation under current accounting standards
Requirements
* Relevant tertiary degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or an equivalent field
* Membership of a relevant professional association
* Proven experience in an asset management and accounting role, preferably within the Public Sector
* Understanding of Financial ERP systems and their use in a Victorian Government context
