Be part of a security firm dedicated to the protection of its clients, people, assets, and reputation. This role supports this mission through the operation of our control room called the Security Operation Centre (SOC). The SOC operates on a 24/7/365 basis and acts as a monitoring centre, crisis management centre, central command and information hub built on actionable intelligence. It monitors and detects threats, alarms, systems, duress and emergencies. The SOC is also responsible for escalation, crisis management, acting as the first point of contact for clients and staff in emergency response scenarios.
We are looking for a Control Room Operator to form part of the team, and to support our business, operations, SOC and clients. The role requires the multi-tasking of customer service provision, threat detection through alarms and CCTV, alarm response, risk monitoring, and crisis management. The Operator will be responsible for the monitoring of CCTV and alarms, client and assets movements, the management of access control and the coordination of the incident response.
The SOC operates on a 24/7 basis and operators cover a 24/7/365 with rotating shifts of 12 hours, with 4 days off. We are looking for full-time and casual workers.
What you’ll do:
* Monitoring CCTV systems for threats across multiple sites.
* Managing access control systems and responding to alarm activations and systems faults.
* Responding to communication systems such as phone, email, and radio (clients and internal).
* Monitoring of imminent threats nationally and globally (terrorism, crime, natural disasters, etc.) and alerting stakeholders on rapidly developing situations.
* Coordinating the dispatch of our Field Operations team during incidents, alarms activations, etc.
* Assisting in the management of security operations.
* Updating security records, logs, client databases and procedures.
* Implementing crisis management processes when needed.
What we’re looking for:
* Passionate, proactive, self-motivated and can effectively prioritise, manage deadlines, and work autonomously.
* Experience in Control Room/Alarm Monitoring centre.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including accuracy in information relay.
* Adaptable, flexible, well organized, and strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work 24/7 rotating roster, including night shifts and weekends.
* Must have a NSW Security Licence (at least Class 1E Monitoring Centre Operator).
* Intelligence/OSINT knowledge would be advantageous.
