Position Information Sydney Secondary College Balmain is a vibrant middle school with 880 students, including 37 Aboriginal students, located on the harbour foreshore with selective, enrichment, comprehensive and special education streams for students in years 7-10. As part of Sydney Secondary College, our highly skilled and dedicated staff have opportunities to teach across campuses – Leichhardt (7-10) and Blackwattle Bay (11-12) as well as work with colleagues across campuses in collaborative practices and professional learning opportunities. Selection Criteria Approval to teach French (7-12) and willingness to teach English as an Additional Language or Dialect (7-12). Capacity to prepare and deliver engaging classroom experiences that will challenge a diverse range of learners, including high potential and gifted students. Ability to create inclusive classroom environments that promote positive wellbeing for students. Well developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Languages faculty and across the school. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
