The position :
My client is seeking a Laboratory technician initially for a three-day week (totally of 22.5 hours per week) to assist with the Performance testing of yeast.
This will be on a 12 month casual contract to start off with and at its maturity will have the option to go permanent if both parties are happy.
The work will take place in a very modern and pleasant working environment you will be required to assist with: Routine laboratory testing of dry & wet yeast using a range of laboratory tools and equipment Mixing of dough for the purposes of testing batches of yeast.
1. Recording and reporting of test results Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with agreed standards.
2. Ensuring consistency in accuracy, quality and timely output of work. Actively participating in productivity improvements within the laboratory.
3. Comply with applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and statutory obligations.
4. Ensure good interaction with other business departments where applicable.
Essential Days and Hours:
5. Wednesday and Thursday are essential days of work .
6. One other day either Monday, Tuesday or Friday (can change depending on requirement)
7. Starting time 8.30am but flexible up to 10am start to accommodate dropping children to school - if you required
The Successful candidate:
8. Will be a quality-focused individual with excellent attention to detail, have good communication skills and have the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
9. In addition, you will be proactive, highly organised and have a meticulous attention to detail.
10. Full training will be provided to the right candidate but previous experience in a highly regulated environment would be highly regarded.
11. Will have appropriate qualifications in laboratory / science or similar Good understand of Quality Assurance / Quality Control / NATA standards.
12. Min education level: Cert 4 in Laboratory Techniques
13. Good computing skills and willingness to learn.
14. Great team player
15. Car parking on site.
16. Close to public transport including rail.
