The purpose of the senior geotechnical engineer is to ensure the timely completion of engineering reports through aiding to coordinate resources needed by geotechnical engineers to complete the project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide his/her knowledge gained through years of experience and apply it in the workplace with the aim of creating reliably accurate and realistic recommendations;
• Use their technical expertise to demonstrate to customers our commitment to the quality and accuracy of technical information;
• Aid to produce reports within designated deadlines by aiding in the resource coordination process;
• Provide engineers with direct and indirect supervision and training;
• Visit project sites when required;
• Aid in the quotation process to accurately estimate fees, ensure that customer requirements will be met and that enough data/samples are collected on site to provide accurate recommendations;
• Continually check and audit engineers and other employees' ability to apply engineering principles, follow procedures and systems, etc.;
• Review, audit and authorise all engineering reports produced by the section under their supervision;
• In conjunction with the quality manager, evaluate and take appropriate action on all non-conformances and customer complaints/feedback that arise from the engineering department under their supervision.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proficient in geotechnical software and tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
