The Hostel aims to support Martu students from remote communities in the Pilbara to attend Newman District Senior High School. A place to make a difference:
In this role, you’ll be based in our Martuku Jijiku Maya (Martu Student Hostel) in Newman, Western Australia. Reporting to our Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for providing high quality supervision, support, and leadership for up to 11 student residents at the Hostel. A variety of shifts are required including weekday and weekend shift, day shifts, morning shifts, afternoon shifts, evening shifts, and sleepover shifts.
We have multiple roles available:
* Full time
* Part time (ideally approximately 25 hours per week)
* Casual (as needed)
You will make a difference by:
* Facilitating and participating in activities designed to build young people’s social and emotional wellbeing, life skills and educational attainment
* Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with students and their families
* Providing practical support, mentoring and advocacy for students
* Carrying out other duties as needed at the hostel, including cooking and cleaning
