At Bajwa Orchards, we are always looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our team. We are looking for Fruit Inspector for our company. You will be responsible for ensuring that required standards of hygiene are observed at storage, processing and packing facilities. You will know about the produce industry and be able to educate, advising and providing information on Fruit inspection standards.
Fruit Inspector
Responsibilities:
· Checking fruit quality as well as assessing the readiness of the fruit for harvest and advice accordingly.
· Develop, Audit and report all the quality procedures to be followed for compliance as per the required Industry standards to get maximum yield of fruit produce.
· Train staff to follow correct policies & procedures in determining fruit quality and grade.
· Ensure that required food standards and hygiene are maintained during the harvest, storage, and packing of the fruits.
· Ensure that transportation and handling procedures meet all the regulatory requirements.
· Monitor disease and pest infestation in plants and produce to advice on financial implications.
· Determine and supervise of disease and pest control as per Industry standards to get maximum produce.
· Ensure correct application of fertilizers in accordance with crop needs.
· Inspect watering system and ensure correct application of water to ensure the plant receives the appropriate amount of water.
· To ensure biosecurity measures are maintained across all blocks to prevent the spread of pests and diseases.
· Ensuring that waste is disposed in the correct manner in aspects of environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance.
· Ensure all fresh produce packs meet the required standards for maintaining product quality and consumption without any adverse health implications on customers.
Skills and Experience required:
· Relevant qualification is required.
· Two year of relevant experience is required.
· Previous experience in quality control, product inspection, or a similar role within the fresh produce industry (fruit inspection is highly preferred).
· Strong knowledge of quality standards and grading systems for quality fruits.
· Basic computer skills for reporting and record-keeping.
· Physical stamina for inspecting produce in warehouse and storage environments.
· Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality certifications.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Good communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 plus Superannuation per annum.
