Job Purpose
The focus of this role is to plan and execute agreed content strategies across BritBox AU devices and platforms, ensuring smooth delivery and transmission of content through effective scheduling and inventory management, timely and clear communication and accurate data management. This is a full-time role, based in the Britbox Sydney Hub.
You will work with global cross-functional teams, including daily contact with Britbox AU Content and Editorial, Marketing, BBC Studios Branded Services, as well as global product, content operations, creative and analytics teams.
Responsibilities :
1. Work closely with Editorial Manager and Head of Content & Editorial to plan and execute programming strategies that promote content and drive viewing.
2. Maintain detailed forward planning documents and enter schedules into relevant systems, focusing on accuracy and deadlines.
3. Execute the merchandising of content across all platforms and devices using various CMS.
4. Communicate the schedules and amendments to all relevant parties in an efficient and timely manner and be the key contact for all internal schedule queries.
5. Liaise closely with Content Ops and Scheduling teams on schedule timings and content readiness, troubleshoot any content issues.
6. Analyse available data & insights to inform decision making for AU, highlight future opportunities and weaknesses, reacting decisively to declining performance in a considered and strategic manner.
7. Have detailed knowledge of BritBox content inventory.
8. Assist with briefing of onsite artwork which supports editorial KPIs and maximises available product features.
9. Carry out regular product checks ensuring content is appearing as planned.
10. Work closely with the content acquisitions team to identify content needs and opportunities, and support content decision-making.
11. Work with Britbox International cross-functional and cross-territory groups including Operations, Marketing, CRM, Customer Service, Creative, Global Editorial, Analytics and Insights teams.
Experience :
1. Programming - knowledge and experience of scheduling and strategy with a good understanding of television audiences and their relationship to content, experience using CMS, channel management software and databases.
2. Specific video-on-demand scheduling and merchandising experience.
3. Experience of working with research, insights, editorial, content acquisition and marketing teams to schedule content.
4. Demonstrable analytical and operational skills and experience, ideally working with data insights and analytics.
5. Experience of working within a global team would be an advantage.
Knowledge and Experience :
1. Understanding of local TV market and competitors, as well as global industry trends.
2. Extensive British TV programme knowledge, with excellent editorial judgement and understanding of audiences.
3. Comfortable working operationally with various technology and devices.
4. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
5. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and to adapt to a continuously changing environment.
6. Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), Airtable, Google Docs, Jira, and project management platforms (e.g., Trello, Monday, Asana).
7. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
8. Ability to interpret editorial intentions and contribute to the generation of ideas.
9. Proactive and collaborative, with a willingness to support team objectives and improve processes.
10. Enjoys working with diverse and distributed teams (AUS / US / UK).
