About the role $120,000 Including Super Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) team are seeking to engage a qualified and experienced HVAC / Mechanical Supervisor to be part of their close-knit facilities maintenance team. This is a full-time permanent position in which you will oversee all HVAC and Mechanical work on Garden Island in Rockingham. Whilst this role is based locally, regular travel to other WA defence facilities will be required, within your area of responsibility. Responsibilities: Supervision of in-house HVAC staff and subcontractors for all General Estate Works (GEW) under the Defence Contract Portfolio. Supervision may include multiple service lines including (but not limited to) HVAC, BMS, Mechanical, Fire, Cranes, Compressed air, registered plant and pools. Inspection/validation of the physical work to ensure compliance with set quality and technical standards. Manage costs and budgets and assist with planning, scheduling and allocation of activities. Ensure accounts are maintained with appropriate suppliers to ensure equipment and services are available to tradespersons. Attend meetings to oversee progress and issues impacting safety, quality, schedule, and cost. About you: Formal trade background with experience in facilities maintenance on a range of building-related works and repairs. Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating in-house trades, including contractors and sub-contractors. Competence in report writing, procurement principles and quotation preparation. Flexible to meet the demands of after-hours work and the ability to participate in an on-call roster. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally. Competent in the use of MS Office suite; knowledge of MMS SAP system is advantageous. The incumbent to this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting (baseline). As a result of this requirement, the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen. This position requires a valid Australian driver's licence.
