Office location: Eveleigh PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Enterprise Architect - Infrastructure, will play an integral role working with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure architecture with the organisation's strategic goals. The primary focus will be on delivering the Network Blueprint for schools, ensuring a clear and implementable design pattern, while also contributing to technology enablement initiatives and the development of IT roadmaps. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development of the Network Blueprint for schools, defining scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure patterns. Design and document architecture artefacts (e.g., high-level designs, reference architectures, patterns, templates, standards, and procedures) for infrastructure solutions. Provide technical leadership on infrastructure modernisation, including network, cloud, and on-premises environments. Collaborate with internal teams to guide the development of infrastructure policies, standards, and guidelines for review and approval by relevant stakeholders. Establish infrastructure standards for network design, cloud adoption, and technology enablement. Evaluate current infrastructure capabilities and identify areas for optimisation or innovation. Validate design and implementation against best practices and security standards. Support the development of the department’s technology roadmaps, ensuring infrastructure capabilities are aligned with business needs. Assist internal and external auditors in evaluating infrastructure-related controls and processes. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive experience in infrastructure and network architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable solutions. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture methodologies, such as TOGAF or Zachman. Experience in developing technology roadmaps and blueprints. Proven ability to design and deploy infrastructure solutions in hybrid and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS). Knowledge of network architecture principles, including segmentation, security, and performance optimisation. Familiarity with infrastructure security and compliance frameworks. Desirable Certifications: TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certifications. Relevant infrastructure certifications (e.g., Cisco, AWS, Azure).
