Kelmscott SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher to join their team. The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate innovative, contemporary teaching practices aimed at developing the school as a centre of teaching and learning excellence. They will ideally proactively contribute to an evolving English program, while inspiring every student with a pathway to success.
The successful applicant ideally has experience in teaching upper and lower school English and possesses strong skills and experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English, or the capacity to do so in the future. Ideally, you also possess a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and are skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all learners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work in a team environment, are well-regarded. Furthermore, a willingness to engage in professional learning and to liaise with colleagues, parents, and external networks is highly valued.

We are seeking applicants with the knowledge and skills to effectively utilize systemic data, including the Student Achievement Information System (SAIS), the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), and the Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) to address the individual learning needs of students.
Kelmscott SHS will implement a school-wide Teaching and Learning Instructional Framework that addresses high-impact teaching strategies. Teachers will design and deliver lessons aligned with the Framework and receive coaching and feedback.
