Role Overview:
As a Test Analyst within this Federal Government Department, your primary focus will be on testing the function and interfaces of the systems that constitute the Department’s core business processing systems. You will source and analyse design documents, and contribute to the preparation, peer-review, and execution of test scripts.
Operating within an Agile environment, you will utilise test management tools to prepare and execute test scripts, document results, analyse data, and prepare test artifacts. You will also escalate issues, defects, and incidents in line with the assigned work scope from the Scrum Master or Team Lead.
Your role may extend to leading sections of work within a release and undertaking specialist or technical research and analysis activities to enhance testing practices. Additionally, you may supervise junior employees, manage staff performance, allocate work, and identify opportunities for on-the-job training.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Write, review, and execute test cases.
2. Prepare, create, maintain, execute, and review test requirements and scripts based on design analysis, collaborating with design, build, and business teams.
3. Document test plans in line with the department Test Strategy.
4. Adhere to Defect Management strategy to raise defects and perform troubleshooting.
5. Identify data requirements for test cases and manage test data creation and maintenance.
6. Collaborate with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Architects, and Business Subject Matter Experts to clarify system behavior and business processes.
7. Strong end-to-end Testing experience, including backend and UAT.
8. Coordinate Application Program Interfaces testing (API) using PostMan and SOAP UI.
9. Utilise Azure DevOps for defect tracking and management.
10. Assist the Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance section with testing activities as required.
11. Provide feedback and reports on estimates of testing effort and progress for project management and planning purposes.
12. Contribute to quality assurance reviews and suggest improvements.
To be successful, you will have:
1. Over 3 years of experience within Manual Testing.
2. Exposure to or previous experience in API testing, Postman, Soap UI, Azure DevOps and Team Foundation Server.
3. Hold an ISTQB Foundation Certificate or equivalent certificate, or relevant practical experience.
4. Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction with competing priorities and be accountable for completion of work; and demonstrated ability to adapt and work in a constantly changing environment.
5. The ability to be proactive, flexible, and agile, whilst managing changing goals and scope in a multidisciplinary team.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and skilled at prioritisation and multi-tasking.
