MATT’S PATCH is a family farm business based in Northern Territory growing and producing tropical fruits such as Papaya, Banana, and Passionfruit. We supply local and interstate fruit distributors all year.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tasks in planting and producing crops, fruits, and vegetables.
- Preparation of soil for planting crops and seedlings.
- Operate farm machines and equipment for cultivating and spraying fruit and vegetables.
- Proper use of chemicals to control the growth of weeds and harmful insects.
- Use of irrigation water supply system for crop growth.
- Selecting, picking, and discarding fruit and vegetables according to quality control.
- Grade, sort, bunch, and pack produce into containers and load onto trucks.
- Build trellises for climbing vegetables and vines.
- Maintain crops, fruits, and vegetables by weeding and pruning.
- Other duties as directed on the property.
- Some evening shifts
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrate knowledge in propagation, seeding, cutting, and potentially tissue culture.
- Demonstrate ability to use farm equipment, including tractors, quadbikes, trimmers, and small trucks.
- Demonstrate capable of physically hard work in hot humid conditions at an acceptable pace.
- Demonstrate ability to learn and work in multiple crops, seedlings, vines and trees.
- Demonstrate ability to set up and maintain irrigation systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of pest sprays and the ability to use spray equipment.
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of relevant farming experience.

living, bathrooms and laundry.
There are rental properties in the district.
