The Opportunity
One of the largest and most dynamic divisions within the department is seeking an energetic and talented officer to coordinate security compliance and provide advice to our stakeholders in Canberra, State/Territories offices, and overseas.
As a member of the Security Policy, Training and Culture section, you will be responsible for coordinating security compliance activities and implementing policies and procedures that protect the department from security risks and vulnerabilities in our global operations.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
7. Knowledge of the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework.
8. Familiarity with the overseas network and environment.
9. Experience with government records management and filing systems.
Key Duties
As an APS5 Security Compliance Officer, you will be required to:
10. Coordinate and triage compliance assessments and inquiries related to workforce security arrangements and outcomes.
11. Manage a section mailbox and coordinate advice determinations and escalations.
12. Undertake various administrative duties to support security policies and procedures, including reporting, records management (TRIM), and compliance activities.
13. Contribute to the achievement of Section and Branch objectives.
14. Support the Branch in delivering timely and consistent responses on policy compliance and security matters.
15. Contribute to reporting for leadership on issues that may impact the Section or Branch.
16. Develop an understanding of legislation, policy, and regulations that support recommendations relating to security issues/policy.
17. Nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
18. Perform other related duties as tasked or required.
Please Note: This position is NV1 minimum, NV2 preferred. It is a security-designated position, and specified personnel will be required to hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance prior to commencement.
