We are seeking an experienced and professional Chef / Cook to join our team at an Aged Care facility in Melton.
This is a hands-on position requiring you to cook home-style comfort food in a fast-paced kitchen for our valued elderly residents.
We are able to provide you with a great work/life balance with straight day shifts from 9.00am to 5.30pm.
Overall Purpose of the Position
To efficiently manage the kitchen, maintaining consistently high standards of service and exceeding customer expectations at all times.
Position Responsibilities
1. To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including overseeing and preparing all meals with a key focus on consistency and quality.
2. To adhere to all special dietary requirements including vegetarian, allergies/intolerances, supplements, and texture modified diets.
3. To perform all food handling tasks in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Food Safety Program.
4. To manage and supervise catering staff and ensure they perform their tasks in accordance with our Food Hygiene Standard and Food Safety Program.
5. To ensure that all Food Safety Program monitoring records are accurately completed, maintained, and current.
6. To assist with all food purchases, stock ordering and stocktakes.
7. To assist with rostering of all catering staff.
Roster
Part Time or Casual: 2 days per week, Monday and Tuesday.
Minimum Requirements
1. Previous experience in a similar kitchen management role.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication ability.
3. Strong organisational and planning skills.
4. High level attention to detail.
5. Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
6. Current National Police Check (less than 3 years old).
