We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Officer (APS5) to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the day-to-day services for the Agency's tenancy. Your responsibilities will include preparing project plans and scopes of work, liaising with contractors to negotiate and qualify quotes, and project managing site-specific upgrades. You will also manage planned maintenance works, ensuring they are conducted sensitively with tenants and contractors, and act as the main point of contact for building management services.In addition, you will provide advice and guidance on protective security matters, including overseeing pre-employment security processes, security clearance arrangements, and security incident management. You will support the Agency's projects and operations to ensure compliance with assurance and governance processes and provide quality advice, monitor progress, and produce key documentation.What You'll Bring Experience with PSPF or DSPF: Knowledge and practical experience with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) or Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF).Project Management Skills: Ability to prepare project plans, manage upgrades, and liaise with contractors.Advisory Skills: Capability to provide guidance on pre-employment security processes, security clearances, and incident management.Compliance and Governance: Understanding of assurance and governance processes to ensure compliance.Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency.Additional Information The position is only available to be filled in our Canberra office and will require the successful applicants to be in the office 4 days per week.
