Job Description:
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Integrity Commission seeks a highly experienced General Counsel for an executive contract of up to five years.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to work in an anti-corruption agency, providing advisory, advocacy and leadership to prevent, investigate and expose corrupt conduct.
You will work closely with the ACT Integrity Commissioner and CEO to lead the legal services of the Commission, collaborating with teams across the organisation to provide in-house legal services for the Commission's operational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide legal advice to the Commissioner, CEO and staff on all aspects of operations, including application and interpretation of the Integrity Commission Act 2018.
* Lead the Commission's legal team.
* Draft reports detailing findings and outcomes of investigations.
* Apart as Counsel Assisting the Commissioner in public and private examinations.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders such as the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions and the ACT Government Solicitor.
Terms and Conditions:
The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $299,009 to $310,975, depending on current superannuation arrangements. This includes a cash component of $265,927.
The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years, which may be tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
