The role: Undertake audits of operational efficiency and effectiveness, control systems, compliance and information management, from planning through to completion and follow up of recommendations made.
In accordance with Internal Audit's policies, principles and standards, develop and conduct audits either autonomously or as the lead auditor in a team.
Provide technical and administrative guidance and support to other staff members as required.
Provide a support role in sensitive and high impact special projects and/or investigations.
Maintain quality working papers and provide quality reports, including advice and recommendations, on outcomes of analyses, reviews and research or special projects.

The team: Internal Audit is a small, high-performing team guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve operations of the Department of Health.
The unit: applies an objective assurance and systematic approach to evaluate the organisation's governance, risk management and control environments recommends improvements to the Department's operations through the conduct of internal audits, and is accountable to the Secretary and Audit and Risk Committee to deliver advice and assurance that the Department's internal controls are operating efficiently and effectively.
