About the role
The Wacol Domestic Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This role will best suit those who thrive in a fast-paced environment with a varied case load. Domestic patients are admitted to the hospital via members of the public, RSPCA animal ambulances, Community Outreach program, Inspectorate and internal transfers from regional shelters. Your role will require you to work as part of a dynamic team within the veterinary clinic and surgery.
* Work as part of a dedicated team of people committed to animal welfare.
* Provide both medical and surgical nursing care to animals in the care of RSPCA Qld.
* Perform routine laboratory and pathology tests.
* Assist Veterinarians in handling and treating of animals.
* Administer routine veterinary treatments and medications.
* Triage incoming animals.

* Monitoring surgery from pre-surgery through to the procedure, then to wake and discharge.
* Monitoring patients in-house, following medication or surgical treatments and making sure each patient is comfortable.
* Being involved with evidence-based diagnoses, therapies, and treatments alongside the treating veterinarian.
