About this opportunity
Maintain all equipment within the Sulo MGB Australia facilities including buildings and premises. Trouble shoots equipment in regard to electrical, mechanical and hydraulic functions. Assists in project work and coordinates smaller projects.
The above-mentioned tasks will be fully filled by performing the following duties.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Safety & Environment
1. Participate in Safety/Environment activities and document observations, Pre-start checks, Take 5 checklists, JSEA’s, Safe Behaviour Observations, Hazard ID’s, RA’s etc.
2. Comply with all Company and site Safety/Environment requirements utilising correct PPE, tools, job aids and standards and procedures.
3. Identify, contain and report incidents in Safety/Environment.
4. Participate in investigations, improvement opportunities and problem solving.
5. Look out for my teammates at work including casual labourers.
6. Maintain own work area in a neat and tidy state.
Customer
1. Know and understand the requirements of the downstream customer and deliver to standard.
2. Identify, contain and report incidents.
3. Participate in investigations, improvement opportunities and problem solving.
Costs
1. Take and recommend actions which will reduce costs relating to performance of work tasks.
2. Operate with care and maintain with precision.
3. Ensure all maintenance members conduct their work safely.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. The employee must ensure that all records, documents and data are retained and stored in accordance with the relevant procedures, work instructions, standards and guidelines. This also includes the use of the maintenance software MEX.
2. Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
3. Maintain and review required level of spare parts to ensure sufficient and correct spare parts are available for all plant and equipment.
4. Ordering spare parts in conjunction with the Technical Manager.
5. Raise purchase orders and receive goods.
6. Conduct preventive maintenance on all plant and equipment.
Planning & Scheduling
1. Participate in daily scheduling activities.
2. Plan own activities ensuring appropriate tools, materials and assistance are available.
3. Work in with production requirements to minimise downtime of machines.
People Responsibilities
1. Work co-operatively with team members and those outside the team.
2. Treat people with respect.
3. Complete training and development activities as specified in the training matrix.
4. Coach and demonstrate tasks to other team members to current standards.
5. Confirm training requirements in collaboration with Technical Manager.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
1. Year 10 and/or Certificate III or equivalent experience.
2. Trade training as mechanical electrician or mechanical fitter or equivalent.
3. Previous experience in maintaining complex machinery (minimum of 4 years), basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and plastic moulding processes.
4. Driving license and forklift license.
5. Minimum of electrical disconnect/reconnect licence.
6. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
7. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
8. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
9. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
10. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
11. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
