Job Description:
As an Apprentice Panel Beater, you will acquire expertise in various skills such as determining the extent of vehicle damage for expert repair, repairing or replacing damaged panels and sub-structures, returning vehicles to manufacturer's specifications using specialized tools, and utilizing mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Determine the nature and extent of damage to a vehicle.
* Repair, remove or replace damaged panels and sub-structures.
* Return a car to manufacturer's specifications.
* Use mechanical and hydraulic equipment, computer alignment programs and processes.
* Apply metal welding and modern bonding techniques.
* Filing, grinding and sanding panel surfaces.
* Re-fit body hardware such as door locks.
* Realign chassis and body frames.
* Remove and replace auto-electrical components if damaged.
