Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hospital in Central Queensland. The Maternity Service at the Rockhampton Hospital provides a level 4 maternity service, including antenatal care, postnatal care, and birthing services.
The Maternity Service has a strong focus on interdisciplinary care planning and networking with community agencies. Midwives work in a group practice model, providing continuity of care to women during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period.
The role of a Registered Midwife involves giving support, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period. They conduct births independently and provide care for newborns and infants.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA and a current annual practising certificate
* Midwifery knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
* Ability to use evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement in care
* Commitment to continually progress own competency along the continuum from novice to advanced
