What you’ll be doingThe Functional Consultant in Atturra’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) team bridges business needs and technical solutions. They gather requirements, design content workflows, define metadata and permissions, and ensure the ECM system aligns with compliance and governance standards. Working closely with stakeholders and technical teams, the Functional Consultant develops EIM Strategy, guides EIM maturity, supports design/configuration, leads functional testing, and assists with user training, change management and adoption. With expert knowledge in EIM, ECM, RM and DM, their role includes analysing current EIM maturity, process, governance, technology, and organisational culture to improve efficiency, and guiding technical resources towards a successful implementation and ongoing optimisation of ECM solutions. Strong business analysis, stakeholder engagement, client management, customer service, and ECM platform knowledge is essential for translating user needs into effective, scalable content management solutions.Duties and responsibilities include:Engagement & Requirements GatheringMeet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals.Engage with stakeholders to understand business processes, content lifecycles, compliance requirements, and pain points.Document functional requirements for content capture, storage, retrieval, collaboration, and retention.Collaborate with clients remotely and onsite to assess current state, solution, and develop complex strategies and roadmaps for EIM maturity.Provide expert advice on all matters relating to ECM, EIM, IM, RM, and Data, including industry best practices and legislative requirements.Training, Support & Change ManagementProvide support, assistance, and training to users.Create user documentation and deliver training sessions to end users and administrators.Support adoption by helping users understand new content processes and tools.Provide guidance on Change Management and Communications including undertaking Change readiness assessments.Planning & AnalysisPerform planning, analysis, design, requirements definition, functional design, development, testing, and implementation of ECM/EIM solutions.Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improvement or greater leverage.Analyse existing ECM workflows (e.g., document approval, archiving).Solution Design & ArchitectureDefine how the ECM platform (e.g., OpenText, SharePoint, etc) will be configured to meet business needs.Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to application developers.Specify metadata schemas, taxonomy (RDS/BCS), security roles, workflows, and access policies.Configuration & ImplementationCollaborate with technical consultants or system architects to configure or customise ECM/EIM solutions based on functional specs.Assist in setting up content types, templates, versioning rules, and audit trails.Provide support for difficult and complex environments.Coordinate activities simultaneously for multiple projects.Testing & ValidationCoordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.Prepare test cases and lead functional testing (e.g., UAT) to ensure solutions work as intended.Validate that workflows, permissions, and integrations function correctly.Working Condition:What will make you successful in this role?5+ years of Information Management/ Records Management experience.3+ years of experience working in a customer service oriented environment.3+ years of experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.3+ years of functional knowledge in systems in area of responsibility including Document Management, Document Control and Project Management.3+ years of experience executing and communicating project plans.3+ years of experience working with senior business leaders and executive.Qualifications:• Degree in Information Management or equivalent experience.Why is this an exciting opportunity?Atturra is one of the fastest growing ASX-listed advisory and IT solutions companies in Australia, giving you a strong foundation to fulfil your career ambitions.
