Key Responsibilities
Propose and implement changes to IT architectures to enhance service levels through improved fault tolerance and disaster recovery. Serve as the technical lead for projects, defining, planning, and configuring developments on IT infrastructure platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, develop requirements, and assess costs related to capital and operational expenditures. Effectively communicate and implement agreed changes across departments. Participate in cross-training within the team to ensure operational continuity and maintain up-to-date documentation of procedures and work practices. Evaluate IT technologies with a focus on workflow optimisation and contribute to the development of future ICT strategies. Assist with the design and implementation of new infrastructure solutions. Create, maintain, and enhance technical and process documentation. Support daily administration tasks, including system configuration, monitoring, and ensuring performance, availability, and backup integrity. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues escalated within the Infrastructure Team. Requirements
Proven experience as a Windows Server System Administrator, with expertise in Windows Server 2022. Strong background in maintaining and managing Active Directory environments. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and process follow-up. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with experience working in diverse professional environments. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being effective independently and liaising with external engineers. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solutions-oriented mindset. Qualifications and Certifications
ITIL certification(s). Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications, particularly in networking technologies. Experience in network administration. Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting cloud technologies, including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, networking, Windows/Linux servers, computing services, cloud storage, DNS, and certificate management. Experience in Unix/Linux administration, including configuration management tools such as Puppet, and version control tools like Mercurial or Git. Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Desirable, but not mandatory
Additional certifications in cloud platforms or network security. Experience with automation tools and frameworks. Familiarity with DevOps practices and methodologies. Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes. Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation. Additional Requirements Applicants must be Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or hold a valid work permit or visa. Evidence of work status will be required if shortlisted for an interview. The successful applicant must obtain a Working with Children approval before commencing employment. Participation in an on-call roster is required. Some maintenance and improvement tasks may need to be scheduled outside business hours. The role includes covering for other Infrastructure team members during planned leave or unavailability. We are looking for our next superstar to join the Sparx team as soon as possible. This is a contract, full-time role and we are an on-site company located in Parkville.
