As Principal, Software Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping our Real Estate, Construction & Insurance technology landscape. Working closely with our enterprise architecture team, product & engineering leadership, engineering teams, product managers, and business leaders, you will define technical direction, establish best practices, and ensure our software architecture aligns with business goals. Your role will be strategic yet hands-on, influencing system design while empowering teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions. What will you be doing? Support software engineering teams with evolving the architectural ensuring alignment with business goals and enterprise architecture. Drive our enterprise architecture principles and cloud-native best practices, leveraging AWS, GCP, and microservices. Support product and engineering teams in developing scalable, secure, and resilient systems. Promote API-first strategies and event-driven architectures for system interoperability. Stay ahead of emerging technologies, assessing and integrating new tools to foster innovation. Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, software teams, and technical leadership to define roadmaps and best practices. Mentor and coach engineers, guiding them on software architecture and system design. Lead adoption of AI solutions to enhance software capabilities. You need to have: 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in technical leadership or software architecture role. Expertise in designing and implementing scalable microservices architectures. Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, and cloud-native technologies (GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless, Terraform, etc.). Proven experience with event-driven architecture, API design, and distributed systems. A solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. Strong experience working with data-driven solutions, including technologies such as Kafka, Redis, NoSQL/SQL databases. Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, refine best practices, and elevate engineering standards. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language. What credentials do you need? Bachelor of Information Technology or similar qualification, or equivalent industry experience 10 years in professional software development 3 years in a lead/architect role Bonus: GCP, or other AWS certifications.
