As a Senior Field Mechanical / Piping Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing engineering services, offering technical support, and overseeing the mechanical engineering team’s activities.
This is a FIFO role, based in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, or Sydney, with a 2:1 roster and 10.5-hour workdays while on site.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet client and statutory requirements, within time and budget constraints.
* Provide mechanical engineering services, including detailed conveyor calculations, equipment datasheets, and scope of works.
* Ensure clear project scope and manage any changes following the project change management processes.
* Participate in project meetings, prepare progress reports, and adhere to required checking procedures.
* Proactively resolve any discrepancies between client requirements and project deliverables.
* Stay updated on the latest developments and innovations in mechanical engineering.
* Support and mentor junior team members.
* Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including the client.
* Identify and solve technical issues, seeking assistance when needed.
Requirements:
* An Australian-recognised Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia.
* Significant experience in senior roles, including site construction and commissioning support.
* Experience in mineral sands processing plants and the installation/commissioning of pump/piping systems.
* A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and cross-discipline engineering requirements.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
* Extensive technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering within multi-disciplinary project environments.
