Halcyon Knights is seeking a skilled EL1 Security Training Specialist to work with a federal government department based in Canberra, ACT. This 12 month contract role will involve designing, developing, and delivering specialized security training for staff both domestically and internationally.
The Diplomatic Security Division (DSD) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of Australian Government personnel, diplomatic posts, and sensitive information worldwide. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to these efforts by providing high-quality training solutions.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Deliver presentations and facilitate security training for DFAT staff and external agencies.
* Develop innovative, culturally sensitive, and diversity-enabled learning solutions.
* Design and implement training across multiple modalities, including face-to-face, virtual, eLearning, and blended learning.
* Continually analyze and review training curricula to align with DFAT and DSD’s strategic objectives.
* Develop training strategies, outcome briefs, and high-level executive briefs.
* Identify and address security training and capability gaps through continuous improvement efforts.
* Manage and prioritize the scheduling and enrollment for security training programs.
* Educate others on the application of security policies and procedures.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to refine training requirements.
* Administer training-related tasks, including managing Lumi and training attendance records.
* Contribute to the development and management of the Diplomatic Security Officer Development Program.
* Support the preparation of briefing materials and policy guidance.
ABOUT YOU
* Qualification and/or demonstrated experience in training and assessment.
* Experience in Protective Security and knowledge of overseas security environments.
* Ability to interpret and apply security policies and provide expert guidance.
* This is a security-designated position requiring the successful candidate to hold or obtain a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) Security Clearance prior to commencement.
