Engineering - Software (Information & Communication Technology)Empyrean IT is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to provide Empyrean customers with expert technical services in the delivery of projects and support services, focusing on Microsoft Modern Workplace technologies such as Intune/Autopilot, Defender, M365 migrations, Hybrid Exchange, SharePoint/Teams, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Copilot, and Viva.You will be responsible for end-to-end technical project delivery, including the design, implementation, support, and resolution of complex technical issues. This role requires full ownership of projects, ensuring successful execution from inception to completion.You will work as part of a small but growing technical team that delivers a variety of technical projects. You must be able to collaborate with the team as well as work autonomously to deliver excellent outcomes to our customers.Responsibilities Include:Project Implementation: Serve as the senior engineer on systems/solutions projects, collaborating with the Project Manager and technical lead to ensure smooth and correct implementation of customer solutions.System Analysis and Design: Perform system analysis, technical design, implementation, and maintenance of systems with an emphasis on Cloud and infrastructure technologies.Timely Delivery: Ensure technical delivery activities are performed in a timely manner, in accordance with contracted terms and agreed design.Timesheet Management: Manage a personal timesheet within guidelines and timeframes as required by Empyrean.Customer Satisfaction: Ensure corporate customer satisfaction standards are met and follow up with clients to ensure they are satisfied with the service or products provided.Technical Support: Resolve complex problems with clients’ systems and/or software applications and provide technical support to client requests, dealing with complex service queries and problems.Vendor Engagement: Attend informational sessions provided by vendors and Empyrean.Team Collaboration: Work as a team player, assisting other team members to achieve their goals.Compliance: Ensure compliance with Empyrean’s Quality and Project Management Systems.Technology Evaluation: Assist in technically evaluating new and emerging technologies for their fit within the Empyrean product portfolio.Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service as required, on-site or remotely.Required Experience:Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 3-6 years of related technical experience working with M365 and cloud technologies, along with relevant vendor certifications. Previous experience in an MSP environment, particularly with Project Delivery, is highly valued.Required Skills and Knowledge:Professional approach to work, associates, and clients.Commitment to quality and support of the quality assurance system.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work unsupervised onsite/remote for extended periods or as part of a team.Strong customer relationship-building skills, able to quickly develop rapport and credibility with clients at all levels and maintain those relationships for the duration of the project lifecycle.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong commitment, enthusiasm, and drive with the ability to work through conflicting pressures and priorities.Technical expertise in the design, implementation, and support of systems applied to small and medium environments.Experience with Cross Tenant, Google and/or On-Prem to Microsoft 365 migrations (Identity, SSO, Email, OneDrive, SharePoint/Teams, Intune, Defender).Experience with Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM/PAM.Microsoft Unified Endpoint Management, Windows Autopilot, Intune MDM/MAM configurations for Apple and Android.SharePoint Online / Microsoft Teams Design, Implementation and Migration including Governance and Security.Hybrid Exchange Configuration, Migration, and Decommissioning.Microsoft Defender for Endpoint configurations and hardening best practices.Microsoft Purview for data protection and governance.Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.Expertise in fault finding and problem diagnosis for infrastructure and network issues.Understanding of well-known security frameworks such as CIS or Essential 8 for best practice configurations.PowerShell Scripting experience.Azure IaaS design and migration.Microsoft Viva.Qualifications and Certifications:Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.Any relevant Microsoft certifications (MD102, MS102, MS700, MS721, SC900, SC300, SC400, and AZ104 etc.)Personal Characteristics:Ability to perform under pressure.Flexibility in approach to problems.Autonomous and well-organised.Result-oriented.Strong and demonstrable team ethic.Ownership of problems and actions.If you are passionate about Microsoft modern workplace technologies and eager to contribute to a dynamic and growing team, we encourage you to apply.
