Clinical Lead Physiotherapist- Level 4 LOCATION Toowoomba Full time permanent ASAP start date ROLE PURPOSE To deliver high-quality evidence-based physiotherapy services through clinical expertise.To provide leadership and actively contribute to the physiotherapy service and allied health team, promoting collaborative relationships in the coordination of service delivery and development, quality improvement, education, and research initiatives across the continuum of care.To undertake a clinical caseload, be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe physiotherapy services, while developing a high performing and sustainable workforce.This will include a contribution to working across the weekend and public holiday physiotherapy service.To contribute to the advancement of quality physiotherapy services and optimal patient care through provision of professional and clinical leadership within the allied health team, by providing direct clinical supervision of level 3 physiotherapists and assist with supervision of other junior physiotherapists/AHA as required.To manage and prioritise the clinical workload in order to deliver efficient and effective physiotherapy services across the hospital.This includes the provision of clinical assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilizing evidence-based practice and ethical standards.To collaborate on and undertake the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and procedures within the physiotherapy service.ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT An acute medical and surgical hospital that includes services such as general surgery, Intensive Care, specialist surgery such as orthopaedic, vascular, ENT, urology, plastics, breast, gynaecology, obstetrics and oncology.The General medical service includes cardiac, neurological, palliative care, paediatric, maternity, and excellence.Position Accountabilities Deliver high quality physiotherapy assessments and interventions across a number of clinical areas in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Code of Conduct, and with St Vincent's Health Australia policies and procedures.Physiotherapy services will be inclusive of routine and complex tasks.Tasks and duties including management of workload are performed with a high degree of independence.Exercise independent professional decision making and judgement on a day-to-day basis.Principles, procedures, techniques or methods frequently require adaptation or modification, with clinical decisions based on valid and reliable evidence.Accurate documentation and reporting in accordance with professional standards.Incorporate strategies within Physiotherapy processes and interventions that acknowledge and promote inter-professional teamwork and person-centered care.Undertake professional advocacy beyond routine practice.Deliver professional guidance and clinical leadership to less experienced clinicians, support staff/assistants and students.Monitor and report on professional standards, quality and service delivery outcomes.Provide advice including administrative and reporting requirements for the Allied Health department to the Allied Health Manager and relevant stakeholders in relation to the delivery of the Physiotherapy Service, including proactively monitoring and reporting on clinical outcomes, service performance and professional standards and implementation of quality improvement activities.Research and apply professional clinical evidence to identify opportunities for quality and service improvement activities.Ensure that service initiatives are integrated into professional clinical practice, guidelines and policies at a service level, with minimal support/direction.Ensure that clinical competencies and mandatory training requirements are met and individual compliance is current at all times.Represent Allied Health/Physiotherapy on any relevant hospital committees where required.Establish and maintain effective working relationships through active participation in professional and/or multidisciplinary teams with a range of stakeholders, including VMOs, Nursing, Allied Health and non-clinical services staff based on effective communication and negotiation.Provide direction and guidance and clinical education to students, allied health assistants and Level 2 or 3 practitioners within Allied Health and across the hospital.Assist in development, implementation and review of relevant policies and procedures/guidelines across the broader continuum of care to facilitate best practice whilst integrating organisational priorities.Research and apply professional clinical evidence to identify opportunities for quality and service improvement activities.Ensure that service initiatives are integrated into professional clinical practice, guidelines and policies at a service level.SELECTION CRITERIA Qualifications Class C Queensland Driver's License Bachelor of Physiotherapy/Masters of Physiotherapy or equivalent AHPRA registration National Criminal History Check Participation in the weekend and public holiday roster is a requirement of the position Essential Skills and Experience Demonstrated ability to provide high quality clinical practice and care to patients, Demonstrated ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with multidisciplinary team members High level communication skills, including written, verbal and computer literacy.Demonstrated ability to perform tasks and duties with a high degree of independence, including caseload management.Demonstrated high level regulations/legislation.Ability to contribute towards effective risk management within the Facility or Community.Have a demonstrated application of contemporary infection control standards and
