Cloud Engineer Start Date: 1 July 2025
Length: 24 months + 2 x 12 month extensions
Location of work: ACT (Canberra), NSW (Sydney, Newcastle), Queensland (Brisbane), South Australia (Adelaide) or Victoria (Melbourne, Box Hill)
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our team at a federal government department in Canberra. The successful candidate would be working on an enterprise data and analytics program. The program will look to deliver improvements in various channels, improve data visibility, improved automated processing and better utilisation of information.
This program would be suitable for a candidate who has worked in large cloud and data projects before and is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity to utilise their skills. The team will align to a scaled agile delivery methodology and would regularly work with other multi-disciplinary teams.
This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for a suitable Cloud Engineer to further develop their abilities on large-scale data programs.
About You: AWS Cloud Expertise: Proficient in the AWS Cloud Platform. Skilled in cloud operations tools and IaC
Technical Capability: Knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, and optimisation. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Teamwork: Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Technical Writing: Experience writing technical operations documents
Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Key responsibilities include: Providing guidance on industry best practice for maintaining and monitoring large cloud-based highly available solutions Providing advice and support to uplift our DevSecOps process to continue to evolve our delivery of infrastructure as code, microservices architecture, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), site reliability engineering (SRE) to support highly available and resilient systems, and test automation capability Enhancing and sustaining FinOps capabilities including implementation and support for granular cost tracking. This includes design for finops solutions, understanding impacts to scale, implementation of monitoring and optimising finops to track cloud solution costs, implementing finops reporting capabilities, ensuring cloud cost avoidance, tracking efficiency of cloud environments across multiple domains Providing solutions to support performance monitoring and optimisation of applications to meet SLA expectations About Araza Our organisation works with Australia's largest enterprise and government clients providing project and program teams and resources to ensure success.
