About the Role:
We currently have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to be part of the team at Portland Aluminium. This is a permanent position, working Monday through to Friday.
In this role you provide functional leadership support across operations and maintenance for equipment reliability, with the technical expertise to resolve complex issues that arise. You provide the direction for other Engineers when it comes to applying reliability engineering principles and standards to equipment in an effort to uphold best practice and improvement of our environmental, health and safety performance.
Your responsibilities will be challenging and diverse! It will require a strong customer focus with contribution to:
1. Leading, empowering and encouraging the electrical engineering team to develop their knowledge and abilities.
2. Facilitation and participation in improvement activities to ensure an effective focus of engineering resources on cost reduction, asset utilisation, continuous improvement and waste reduction.
3. Developing work scopes for major equipment repairs using a suite of reliability approaches in an effort to improve equipment management strategies.
4. Optimising production by applying reliability engineering principles to equipment performance and solutions to equipment-based problems through failure and root cause analysis techniques.
5. Taking on a consulting and advising role in the area of Regulatory Changes and Compliance requirements.
6. Lastly but just as importantly; safety leadership to our people and processes.

What you can bring to the role:
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
14. A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
15. Previous experience in Maintenance, Reliability or Plant Engineering is highly regarded.
16. A dedicated commitment to Environment, Health and Safety of people and processes.
17. Facilitative approach to problem-solving activities and leadership in the implementation of change and innovation.
18. Willingness to coach, guide and impart knowledge on others.
19. Effective communication and interpersonal skills within multi-disciplinary technical teams!
