About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team, as a day operator at our Pigment Plant in Australind. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating forklifts in industrial settings.
This is a full time, permanent role working a 9 day fortnight, giving every 2nd Friday off.
Reporting to the Day Supervisor, the day operator will;
1. Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies within the facility.
2. Load and unload trucks, storage areas, and production lines using the forklift in a precise and efficient manner.
3. Follow established safety protocols and procedures while handling hazardous materials or chemicals.
4. Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, including storage areas and loading docks.
6. Assist with inventory management by accurately recording movement of materials and products through SAP
7. Collaborate with production teams, warehouse personnel, and supervisors to ensure smooth logistics and operations.
8. Coordinating transport trucks alongside the dispatch team.
The ideal candidate will;
9. A nationally recognized forklift license with significant previous experience.
10. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to forklift operations, especially in handling hazardous materials.
11. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed.
12. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
13. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
14. Background in a fixed plant environment is ideal
15. Prior experience with SAP or similar systems is beneficial.
