Project ManagerRandstad is proud to partner with a leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government. We have an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager at an AO6 level. This role offers significant responsibility and the chance to contribute to large-scale building projects. This is a highly urgent position. We are actively seeking qualified candidates and aim to expedite the hiring process.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary purpose of this role is to provide high-level skill, leadership, and professional knowledge in delivering project management consulting services. Responsibilities include:
Coordinating and managing all aspects of building projects, encompassing pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activities.
Taking responsibility for the quality and suitability of the building product delivered to the client.
Coordinating the activities of project staff, external consultants, building contractors, managers, and other business units to achieve project objectives.
Providing high-level contract coordination for traditional and non-traditional contract systems.
Ensuring effective engagement and communication with individual project team members involved in pre-design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction services.
Leading negotiations with consultants, local authorities, internal and departmental stakeholders, the client, and contractors to ensure value-for-money solutions.
Utilizing experience and professional knowledge to add value to discussions and ensure appropriate stakeholder management.
Assisting the Principal Project Leader/Senior Project Manager in determining attainable fees and obtaining approval for client billing.
Ensuring adherence to all quality assurance procedures.
Prepares project management plan, evaluates various procurement/delivery methodology, risk and value management, and demonstrates understanding of life-cycle considerations.
Prepares building construction projects brief, terms of references for consultants and consultancy tender documents.
Ensures design is fit-for-purpose / meets design intent, value-for-money, statutory compliances and meets project brief requirements.
Prepares tender documents for Design & Construct (non-traditional) and fully documented (traditional) contracts.
Familiar with Australian Standard for tendering, and non-price criteria in tender evaluations.
Performs/is familiar with the role of a Principal's Representative and a Contract Superintendent.
Familiar with contract law concepts, building construction industry practices, roles and responsibilities of various team members and stakeholders in a building construction project.
Oversees project commissioning, handover documentation, defect liability period and understands building maintenance requirements.
Effective in communications and stakeholder management.
Prepares project reports for management and clients.
Achieves project targets in terms of time, costs, quality, and client satisfaction.
Works within organization's policies, processes and workplace health and safety standards.
Prepares fee proposals, achieves project profitability.
Keeps project management data and systems updated.
Works within approvals/delegations and escalates by exception.
Keeps auditable trail of project records.
Pursues opportunity to achieve efficiencies in business systems and processes.
Ability to operate independently and lead project teams comprising of internal and external resources.
Manages competing interests of project team members and stakeholders.
Essential Skills and ExperienceClient-side building construction/upgrade projects management experience in comparable organizations.
Building construction related education
Strong oral/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised.
Proven ability to contribute to wider team objectives and exceed service delivery expectations.
Current Australian work rights. (Evidence requested upon application)
Must pass criminal history check.
