About the Role
In support of our National Material Planning Manager, we have a twelve-month maternity relief contract available for a Senior Material Planner. This role is based in either Chullora, Sydney or Wacol, Brisbane.
As a key member of the material planning team, you will provide strategic direction and guidance, supporting process improvement and leave cover when required.
Your Responsibilities
* Create effective partnerships cross functionally to enable effective planning, communication and execution of new product development (NPD), deletions and projects
* Provide visibility, guidance and clear instructions to the material planning team on change requirements
* Represent the material planning team in NPD, deletions and project meetings, providing feedback to cross-functional stakeholders
* Ensure all material planning deliverables meet launch timelines and communicate any impacts and risks
* Mitigate stock loss due to obsolescence (SLOB) and write-offs from changes, communicating any impacts and risks
* Manage the new item request process
* Caretake and manage the material planning portfolio when leave cover is required
* Plan and generate purchase orders to meet production requirements and inventory policies
* Collaborate with supply partners, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and synergies
* Report on areas of control related to material planning, creating visibility and awareness
* Support the Material Planning Manager by analysing material requirements, managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules
* Develop subject matter expertise in systems, processes, and functional areas to support the team
* Train, coach, and upskill the material planning team in best practice processes
About You
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in supply planning, including supply chain, inventory management, and administration in high-volume environments
* A qualification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain is highly advantageous
* Ability to analyse data, problem-solve, and make recommendations
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated discipline, organisation, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
