While Spalding is the primary focus, this role will also involve limited work with our sister brand, Sherrin.
Role Overview:
As the Sales & Partnership Manager for Spalding, you will play a key role in managing and developing relationships with customers and sports partners, driving profitable growth, and expanding our brand presence within the basketball community. You’ll be the face of Spalding, our brand ambassador, representing our values in every interaction and contributing to our strategic goals. This role will involve strategic planning, budgeting, and the execution of partnership initiatives, ensuring Spalding remains a leader in the basketball industry. Additionally, you will support Sherrin in a smaller capacity, aligning with their partnership goals as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Driving Profitable Customer Growth: Identify new business opportunities within the basketball industry, optimize existing accounts, and collaborate to exceed sales targets. Develop innovative approaches and proactively pursue strategies that enhance market share and boost profitability.
* Basketball Partnership Development: Develop and manage strategic partnerships within the basketball community, including leagues, teams, and organisations. Collaborate with partners to drive brand visibility and align Spalding with elite basketball players, teams, and events.
* Strategy, Planning & Budgeting: With the Sales Director, lead the development and execution of Spalding’s sales and partnership strategies in basketball. Manage annual planning and budgeting to set and achieve ambitious, targeted goals aligned with the company’s objectives.
* Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with customers and sports partners in the basketball space. Serve as a trusted advisor, understanding their needs and ensuring that Spalding’s plans are aligned with their goals.
* Brand Ambassador: Represent Spalding with pride, ensuring our purpose – “Feed your passion for sport” is conveyed consistently across all interactions. Inspire loyalty and engagement with our brand across all levels of the basketball community.
* Sports Partnerships: Forge and manage high-impact partnerships with sports leagues, teams, and organisations, reinforcing Spalding’s standing as trusted brands within the sports community.
* Support for Sherrin: Provide limited support to Sherrin’s sales and partnership efforts, assisting with initiatives that align with overall brand and organizational goals.
Key Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, or account management, with a strong preference for experience within the basketball or sporting goods industry.
* Proven track record in managing brand partnerships and driving revenue growth, particularly within sports or related markets.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Strong understanding of the basketball community and the unique needs of its players, fans, and stakeholders.
* A strategic mindset with a proactive, results-driven approach.
* Passionate about basketball and committed to supporting its growth at all levels.
