About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach, and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology, and dialysis services in addition to general medical and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About the Role
As a Hospital Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will also work closely with the Environmental Services team and assist with porter services across CGH facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safely and efficiently transport patients, linen, specimens, equipment, and other patient-related items across the health service.
2. Assist clinical and non-clinical staff in managing disruptive patients or visitors, following CGH's de-escalation guidelines.
3. Support patient flow through activities like bed preparation, patient transfers, and more.
4. Handle deceased patient transfers to the mortuary and assist with preparations for viewings as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
1. Certificate II in Security (desirable)
2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
3. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
