An exceptional opportunity exists to join this highly reputable and impactful not-for-profit organisation as General Counsel to provide Executive-level legal advice to senior management and the broader organisation on matters of commercial and strategic importance. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and heading a team of lawyers and administrative staff, this role represents an exciting opportunity to lead the in-house legal function, providing high level, commercially astute, strategic legal advice and support to ensure that the organisation’s operations run smoothly and risk is mitigated appropriately. Responsibilities are broad ranging and include legal risk management, commercial contracting, legislative compliance, complex legal negotiations, research and clinical trials, privacy and managing any litigation. Your strong technical capability is balanced by a pragmatic, responsive, outcomes-focused approach. You will be capable of confidently leading and managing a team to deliver workable solutions within a complex organisational matrix. You will have a proven track record in confidently interacting with a range of stakeholders and contributing at a senior level. You are accountable, credible, ethical, collaborative and capable of communicating in a clear and concise manner.
