The School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences is expanding its team and has a unique opportunity available for a continuing Lecturer/Senior Lecturer role in Stochastics, Statistics and Data Science.
In this role, the successful candidates will be joining a large, diverse team of experts, delivering high-quality content and support to students and playing an integral part of their University learning.
The discipline of Stochastics, Statistics and Data Science has a dynamic team of academics involved in the delivery of highly relevant teaching programs as well as engaged with a wide portfolio of research activities. The discipline hosts the Adelaide Data Science Centre, a leading research and training centre renowned for its expertise in both statistics and mathematical modelling.
To be successful at Level B we are seeking:
* PhD in the mathematical sciences or equivalent qualification
* Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths in statistics, data science, stochastic modelling, or a related field
* Record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings
* Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student engagement
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with both students and staff
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to carry out administrative duties, as directed by the Head of School, effectively and efficiently
* Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the School community
To be successful at Level C we are additionally seeking:
* Substantial record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings
* Demonstrated ability to win significant research funding
* Substantial record of success in effective teaching using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student engagement and as course coordinator
* Record of successful curriculum development or pedagogical innovation
* Demonstrated ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students
* Ability to carry out administrative duties, as directed by the Head of School, effectively and efficiently
