The opportunity

With safety at the heart of everything we do here at Evoenergy, this role will see you working collaboratively with other Safety Business Partners in the team and being a mentor, guide and a trusted advisor for the business. You will build the understanding and capability of frontline leaders in hazard identification and analysis, risk assessments utilising approaches that demonstrate quality discussions and application of controls and SFAIRP principles.
A day in the life
You will contribute to the planning, implementation and positive performance of health and safety initiatives including monitoring the effectiveness of our health and safety practices and procedures.
You will support business areas using observation techniques and reporting (Observe, Query, Coach, Report) and provide insights and recommendations on observations.
You will undertake incident investigations with the identification of root causes and contributory factors, the provision of investigation reports and actions that address root causes and are aligned to the hierarchy of controls.
You will undertake regular audits, data analysis, reviews and inspections with improvements discussed and agreed with the relevant business area.
You will undertake job safety assessments, risk assessments and health/safety evaluations in consultation with work groups.
What are we looking for?
You have knowledge and experience in hazard identification and analysis in high-risk environments
You have completed or enrolled in Certificate IV Health and Safety
You have demonstrated experience in influencing others in safety culture / leadership to see a positive change in behaviour, culture and work practices
Bonus if you have:
Knowledge and experience in incident management and investigations
Knowledge and experience in all areas of health and safety, work practices in the electrical distribution industry and in WHS regulatory frameworks
Formal Electrical or relevant trade qualifications
Experience in the delivery of health and safety related workshops and training
Knowledge of incident investigations using recognised process (e.g. ICAM) and develop reports
Experience in incident analysis utilising data reporting from an incident management system
