The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Field Officer to join their team.
About the Role
This is an ongoing, part-time role based in Mildura, where you will supervise clients at community work sites and other community work programs.
Your primary responsibility as a Field Officer will be to instruct and monitor individuals performing tasks such as graffiti removal, painting, litter collection, mowing and weeding for partner not-for-profit organisations in the community.
You will also be required to perform site inspections, assess hazards, provide health and safety advice, guidance and instruction, and maintain tools and equipment registers.

Requirements
* Ability to communicate and demonstrate a range of tasks and ensure a safe environment for work teams
* Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices and their practical application
* Ability to quickly build rapport with clients and understand their motivations
* Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and strong problem-solving skills
* Ability to model appropriate behaviours and attitudes to assist clients to develop new skills and work practices
* Carpentry or handyman skills
* Gardening, landscaping or painting skills
Working Conditions
This role requires a mixture of field work and office-based work. You must be physically fit to undertake field work and have a current Victorian drivers' licence.
